Stansted Airport by Bicycle
CYCLE PARKING:
Cyclists can use the bike shelter in the Red Zone of the Short Stay Car Park, which is next to the terminal building. There is no charge for using this service.
TAKING BIKES ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
TRAINS: Only fully-folded cycles which have been flat-packed may be carried on Stansted Express trains. National Express East Anglia does carry bikes (except for certain peak-time services), and CrossCountry Trains accepts cycles subject to prior reservation.
COACHES: Some operators may carry bikes as long as they are folded in half and carried in a protective case.
TAKING BIKES ON FLIGHTS:
Most airlines will carry bicycles but often require them to be in special boxes or bags, with handlebars sideways and deflated tyres. Check with your airline to confirm packing requirements and weight restrictions.
