Hyde Park

Hyde Park

Hyde Park is one of few Royal Parks that London Offers. It is one of the largest Parks in London and is situated right next to Buckingham palace and the Royal Gardens. The park is also surrounded by multiple stations at each edge.

 

The park was designed and opened by Henry VIII in the 16th Century. He decided to use the grounds for his hunting which he spent most of his time doing. The park was finally opened to the public in the 1700s 

The park has become the location for many peaceful and some un peaceful demonstrations over the years:

  • The Chartists
  • the Reform League
  • the suffragettes
  • Stop the War Coalition

The park has also been used for many commercial and free concerts over the years hosting a wide range of famous and infamous bands and artists for locals and tourists to enjoy.
